Meet Lucio “Hun Hun” Tan III: The New Face Of The Lucio Tan Group
Lucio “Hun Hun” Tan III is the newest president of the Lucio Tan (LT) Group, one of the Philippines’ largest conglomerates. At just 30 years old, Hun hun is the youngest president in the company’s history.

He is the son of Lucio “Bong” Tan Jr. and the nephew of former President Michael Tan. With a powerful last name and big shoes to fill, Hun hun backed himself with strong credentials.
He graduated summa cum laude from Stanford University with a degree in electrical engineering and master’s in computer science. He had interned with Cisco, Apple, and Facebook before joining Lyft as a software engineer.
He joined his grandfather’s empire in 2019 as president and COO of Tanduay Distillery, along with other key positions in various business units. In 2022, he was appointed vice president and COO of the LT Group. Hun hun moved the ladders fairly quickly as he took the big role as the president of both PAL Holdings and the Lucio Tan Group in May 2023. He replaced his uncle to take over the P110-billion business empire.
According to a report in the Inquirer, the young business leader expressed his confidence in leading the company.
“I am deeply honored to accept the appointment as president and chief operating officer. I thank the board of directors for entrusting me with this responsibility, and I am grateful to all of you for your support. In exercising the functions of my new role, rest assured that I will be guided by the values of integrity, diligence, excellence, and transparency,” he said in a statement.
“The business landscape is constantly evolving, and we must adapt quickly to stay competitive. However, I am confident that with our talented and dedicated team, we will overcome these challenges and achieve even greater success,” he added.
Hun hun is known for his strong leadership skills and his commitment to innovation. He is also a strong advocate for sustainability. In his new role as president, he is expected to continue to grow the LT Group and to make it a more sustainable company. The young and energetic leader has a strong track record of success and is well-positioned to lead the LT Group into the future.
