Krautchan
Krautchan.net was a German imageboard featuring various boards of various dedications. It is named for the ethnic slur "kraut", used by British and Americans against Germans. It is famed amongst Polandball communities as the place where Polandball was effectively "born", specifically on its board /int/, the only English-speaking board on the website, where a British user named FALCO made the comics in order to troll Wojak, a Polish user on the site infamous for his poor grammar, who is later mistakenly known for being the creator of a depiction of a blank, bald man that shared the same name as Wojak, which also went on to become a meme in the following years passing by.
Sometime later, the Polandball comics became popular on /int/, which would eventually spawn numerous important characteristics that would be used for Polandball as a whole, such as Israelcube (along with other Jewish entitycubes) being depicted as a cube instead of a ball. The countryballs would eventually used as flag-like-icons for users based on which country did they came from, which eventually also gave birth to Kazakhstanbrick's unique shape as a brick (long rectangle). The meme eventually spreaded outside of /int/, going as far as to spread to 4chan, Facebook and YouTube, before eventually, the series of comics eventually got its own subreddit, which would go on to be one of the main communities for the Polandball meme ever since.
While the original site closed in 2018, there is a revival of the site that uses the domain, krautchan.rip. As of today, the countryballs are still used as icons for the users' nationalities. The website however is significantly less active as most imageboards eventually die out in popularity, and the imageboard mainly hosts a Spanish and English-speaking community, with almost no forms of the German-speaking community left.
