アメリカ人にインタビュー!初対面の人との会話で避ける話題は?
Religion and politics. Until I feel comfortable with them and so I try to avoid religion and politics at all costs.Because they’re sensitive issues and people get very heated. They definitely have an opinion and that could ruin a friendship.
2)AngelicaさんIf I meet someone for the first time, I don’t want to talk about religion. I don’t want to talk about politics or basically anything current events. I usually try to kind of stay in a neutral zone cause’ those kind of things can give you a really strong opinion about somebody right away so I try to steer away from that stuff.
3)DebbieさんPolitics. That’s not a really good subject to talk about. Maybe money. Like, “How much do you make?” you know, um, you know, “How much do you have saved?” stuff like that.
4)ChrisさんDefinitely politics, religion and maybe family issues. I think it’s really personal and it’s really controversial. People can have different opinions and very energetic about those opinions. You know, you want to be more friendly and have a good rapport first before you talk about those kind of issues.
5)LawrenceさんPolitics. A lot of people have very strong feelings about politics like Trump and stuff like that. So generally try to avoid that cause’ it’s very easy to get into an argument.
6)JasonさんPolitics is number one. And religion is probably the second one I try to avoid. Some people are very passionate about what they believe in and I think that is a very good thing. Um but sometimes if people don’t appreciate your point of view, they get over aggressive. So in personal and past experiences, politics and religion are always the biggest ones that people have more negative reactions to.
7)DeannaさんI don’t talk about politics or how much money they make or what else? I never ask someone if they’re pregnant. I don’t know. That’s about it I guess. Politics I feel like, if you talk about politics, people get really heated and it’s just I don’t know it ends up in an argument so I stay away from that. And then money, it’s just kind of taboo. You don’t want to ask someone how much money they make. It’s rude. And then asking someone if they’re pregnant implies, could imply something else so I just stay away from that.
